My personal story of healing began when I discovered yoga in 2013. I noticed that life seemed to flow almost effortlessly when I maintained a regular yoga and meditation practice. It was a state of being that could not be attained through therapy alone. My dedication to yoga and mindfulness practices, combined with therapy, has empowered me to overcome my own struggles with mental health and substance use. My experience inspired me to share this holistic approach to wellness with others. I believe that each of us has the innate wisdom and potential to overcome the challenges in front of us; sometimes we just need guidance toward our Authentic Truth.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor, and registered Yoga Teacher. I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Master's degree in Community Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I've spent several years counseling justice system-involved youth as well as adolescent and adult job seekers with disabilities. I currently work with adolescents and adults in individual and family therapy. My areas of focus include working with clients who've experienced justice system involvement, trauma, depression, anxiety, emotional and behavioral disorders, substance use disorders, addictions, and chronic stress.
